James Gunn has directed two Guardians of the Galaxy movies (with a third on the way), while he's currently putting the finishing touches to The Suicide Squad for DC. With that in mind, it seems fair to say that he knows his way around the superhero movie genre, but which of the many films to have hit theaters over the years stands out as his favourite?Â
Well, echoing the thoughts of comic book fans everywhere, Gunn recently revealed on Twitter that he's a big fan of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the Oscar-winning animated movie from Sony Pictures.
Revolving around Miles Morales, Peter B. Parker, Gwen Stacy, and a host of other iconic comic book characters, the movie was a critical and commercial success, and a sequel is now in the works. We don't know what form that will take, but the expectation is that Miles' romance with Gwen will be front and centre.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse often tops lists of the greatest superhero movies of all-time, so Gunn's pick isn't overly surprising, and we can all agree the filmmaker clearly has good taste!
