Samsung might be eyeing an early summer Galaxy Z Fold 7 launch, with a new report hinting at an Unpacked event in New York this July. If the timeline checks out, this could be Samsung’s earliest foldable reveal yet.

The report, coming from The JoongAng (via @Jukanlosreve), claims the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 will debut in early July. Samsung previously used New York as the launchpad for the Fold 4 in 2022. However, last year’s Fold 6 reveal happened in Paris on July 10th. This year, Samsung may go even earlier, possibly July 1st or 2nd. This is to avoid clashing with the US July 4th holiday.

While last year’s Fold 6 was a minor refresh, leaks suggest the Fold 7 might get more noticeable upgrades. It’s rumored to feature a slimmer profile—possibly under 10mm thick when folded—and a larger 8-inch internal display.

Camera fans may also have something to look forward to. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 launch could bring the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 200MP main sensor to the foldable lineup. Samsung might also upgrade the resolution of its under-display selfie camera, although these details are still unconfirmed.

So far, no major design overhaul is expected. But with a thinner build and more meaningful hardware tweaks, the Fold 7 is shaping up to be Samsung’s most refined foldable yet.
